This is Michigan. A place formed by ice that continues to push up fossils from its time as a tropical sea. A place that is forever being refashioned by wind and waves. An unforgettable masterpiece of seasons, where in the same week you might get frostbite and a sunburn. Who could resist trying to capture it in pixels? It’s one of my favorite hobbies.

    1. Hi Erin, this is John from Alexandria Virginia. These are one by one beautiful pictures of a great State. I only looked at them now. What I have in common with these pictures are the red Cardinal, a frequent visitor in our backyard; the seagull, which I pictured in several places of the world, as it is a “standard bird” in Holland. Then the swan! Can I “borrow” the Swan? I have written a novel that is about two musicians who fall in love when they are performing The Swan by Camille Saint-Saëns when they were graduates at the College of William & Mary. I will credit you as the fabulous photographer. What camera do you use? The sunset is marvelous, too. I have a sun set similar taken on the water near Portland Maine.
      Hope to hear from you,
      John

      1. Hi John,

I’m happy to let you use the swan photo. Hopefully I have it in a high enough resolution photo for you. I’ve attached two.

        All the Best,

        Erin Bartels
